New museum in Cambodia: SOSORO

A new museum, SOSORO, has opened in Phnom Penh, presenting Cambodia’s history through the lens of money, economics, and politics. The exhibition spans a long historical period — from early statehood to modern times — offering a unique perspective on the country’s development.

The museum is designed to offer multiple formats of engagement: video content, audio guides, explanatory panels, and archival photographs. The exhibition is well-structured and not overloaded, making it accessible even for visitors without a background in history or economics.

A visit typically takes around three hours, although a shorter overview is also possible. Audio guides are available in English, French, Chinese, Japanese, and Khmer.

SOSORO is a strong example of a modern museum space combining history, visual storytelling, and education.
