Excellent fishing and fishing conditions make the lake one of the most productive freshwater fisheries in the world and, once the waters recede, a wonderful place for farming. In the evening, you will find a dinner and a show in the atmosphere of the union of ancient traditions with modernity: dance numbers, authentic music, many colourful dishes and souvenir photos with the Apsara demi-goddesses. Today will begin with an introduction to the “miracle of grace and harmony”: the pink sandstone temple of Banteay Srei. This pink sandstone masterpiece in miniature is the most unique example of the art of working with stone in antiquity. The next point on our route will be the small mountain range of Kulen, considered a sacred place among the Khmers. According to legend, it was here that the divine Buddha took his last step. Today's journey to the world of Angkor lost in the jungle, the centre of the once mighty and prosperous Khmer Empire, will begin with an introduction to the legendary temple of Angkor Wat. Next, we will visit the ancient capital of Angkor Thom, where we will meet the legendary Bayon Temple, famous for its stone smiling towers. We will also climb the stone temple of Bapuon Mountain and walk through the territory of the ancient royal palace with its central temple of Pimeanakas, the terrace of elephants, and the leper king. Continuing the excursion program, we will visit the ancient Buddhist monastery Ta Prohm. Much destroyed, this temple was once richly decorated; music was played here, and receptions and dances were held in the halls. However, during the capture of Angkor by the Siamese in the 15th century, Ta Prohm, like all other temples abandoned by people, was swallowed up by giant ficus and silk trees.
